Looking for a different kind of summer adventure? Try an edVenture

Plan to be in Fredericton in July and you'll encounter an experience outside the ordinary -- edVentures! Running from July 6-21, edVentures is Atlantic Canada’s largest learning vacation program.

With more than 35 workshops in the visual arts, textiles, pottery, jewelry and fashion, there is bound to be something that captures your imagination! All workshops are led by artist-instructors, and range from introductory level classes including Spinning Wheel for Beginners and Pottery for Beginners, to intermediate and advanced classes for people already familiar with the craft, such as Intermediate Soapstone Carving.

Or maybe you’re an experienced felter who would rather sign up for something that pushes your existing skills, like the Felt Story Shawl class where you’ll transform cloths, fibers and yarns into a beautiful “story shawl” you will be proud to wear and display. Expand your wearable art collection even further by creating your own Metal Worked Bracelets!

Classes range from six to 12 participants, to allow for hands-on instruction in an intimate setting at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design in downtown Fredericton. These small class sizes allow you to receive extra instruction and assistance to master a skill if necessary, and you can also get to know your fellow classmates.  Most workshops are delivered in English, but some may be offered by bilingual instructors who can provide instruction in both French and English. Not only will you make a treasure to take home with you, but you may make a new friend!

Register before May 31 to receive an Early Bird discount of 15% off your workshop fee, and avoid the disappointment of your choice of classes being sold out!  For more information call 506-460-2233, 1-888-850-1333 or visit us online at and on Facebook.
