Urban Sketching: Quick & Easy

Learn how to complete colourful sketches from observation even when time is limited.

We will explore a variety of wet and dry media including ink, coloured pencil, and watercolour paint.

Learn how to choose the right colours to make your sketches pop and look great everytime.

Participants must bring a small to medium-sized sketchbook and a waterproof pen, a small water bottle, and are welcome to bring their preferred sketching supplies as well.

We will be heading outdoors so participants may wish to bring a wide brimmed hat, portable stool.

Marla Lasage
Marla loves to tell stories - both real and imagined – through urban sketching, painting, illustration, and writing.

She works mainly in watercolour and ink but enjoys exploring other mediums.

Art is an important part of her daily routine. She believes art is for everyone and enjoys connecting with her audience and sharing her knowledge.

Although, she considers herself mostly self-taught, Marla has studied art, writing, and illustration with a number of tutors locally and online.

She is a member of Fredericton Urban Sketchers.

Her art can be found in private collections in Canada, USA, and Australia.
